Restorative Yoga and Healthy Menstrual Cycle Teacher Training
September 12th – 14th, 2008
 With Kelly Mcgrath
Director of Joy of Yoga Studio
Hours Applicable towards Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits
Helping people learn how to take quiet time for themselves to rest and relax is an essential part of our role as yoga instructors. Restorative Yoga is a beautiful tool for maintaining a healthy body and mind, and a compassionate heart.

Our culture today demands that we all make every moment productive. For many, this has created a life style of constantly putting energy out, with little time to restore. Some people experience symptoms of exhaustion, insomnia, chronic stress, or menstrual cycle and infertility problems.

Restorative yoga is a method of Hatha yoga, developed to rejuvenate your energy by providing a quiet space for rest and relaxation. Asanas are practiced in a passive manner, while being supported on props such as blankets and bolsters.

During this teacher training, you will learn sequences of restorative yoga postures, breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques to reduce stress, headaches, insomnia, back and menstrual pain. You will learn how to replenish your students energy, increase mental alertness and teach them how to live more fully in the present moment.

You will also learn sequences of restorative postures designed to address very specific experiences of the menstrual cycle such as: a heavy "or" light flow, cramps, endometriosis; and how to adapt yoga practice while menstruating during a regular community class.
