Doula refers to a woman who serves as an ally to women in their childbearing year. With the informational, emotional, and physical support a doula offers, women have more relaxed pregnancies, births with less need for medical intervention, and smoother transitions into motherhood.

My services: 1) As your professional labor companion, I will meet with you pre-natally to discuss your concerns about and desires for your birth. I attend the birth of your baby in hospital with a doctor, or at a birthing centre with a midwife, and meet with you during your post-partum period. This continuity of care greatly enhances the profoundly transformative experience of childbirth.

2) I offer a pre-natal class entitled "Birth Essentials: A Course in Empowered Childbirth". As well as discussing the usual hospital protocols, this class takes a closer look at your personal experience of pregnancy, offering you the tools to make informed choices for your birth. This class is taught in an environment of respect and honor for your decisions and experience.

3) With training in Polarity Therapy, Psycho synthesis Psychotherapy, and Ayurvedic post partum massage, I offer private sessions for women seeking relaxation, the opportunity for personal growth, and a greater sense of well-being. These sessions are comprised mostly of bodywork. Nutritional support, activities consulting, and verbal communication are also emphasized.

Dave Campbell

Dave has been in private practice for twenty years now. Former Head Athletic Therapist with the Montreal Manic Soccer Club in the early ‘80’s, Dave began his private practice in Pointe Claire in 1983. He combines his early training with athletes with his more recent work in dealing with cervical, lumbar and pelvic dysfunction to create an approach that helps patients find their normal biomechanics and then start their reconditioning programs.

Dave has been a member of the Canadian medical team for the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in 1986, New Zealand in 1990, and was the Head Therapist for the World Gymnastics Championships in 1985 and the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Dave has practiced as an Osteopath since 1996.
